I just recived a kenya tree coral from usps. It took a long time to ship ca to colorado, shipped on tuesday arrived saterday. Well when I got it the two frags were in about 2 or 3 tablespoons of water. And the stench was something foul. Anyways I placed them in the aquarium without acclimating because they came in almost no water to aclimate with. When I placed them in the tank they were pretty firm and all together but one was folded over. The are both purple in colour but have a brown tint around the base. Well this morning I looked in and over night they have not seemed to improve in looks at all. Both have lost all there some limbs...one looks like it had been maybe eaten a little but I have no idea what could do that since the only fish is a fox face and other that there is just hermit crabs and snails. I just tuched them and they are still firm, but still looking not so good. If anything they got a little more brown over night. Thoughts on if they are going to live?

Leathers are usually pretty hardy. They also have a strong stench, well, all the time. It can take leathers a long time to come around. So, I say give them some time before you give up on them.

There was probably some tissue necrosis that occurred from the terribly long transit. If it hasn't melted/wilted away already, it will probably recover as Anemonebuff says. These guys are hardy. Good luck and let us know how they do.
