I have 5 peppermint shrimps in my 75 gallons tank (4 of them are longer than 2 inches) - So far, they have destroyed/eaten all fan/tube worms (including a christmas tree worm that lasted less than 15 minutes - I nearly cried) - They also have started attacking a frogspawn coral...
So, should I get rid of all of them or keep a few? <It will be easy to catch them as they eat in my hand>

Those aren't cleaner shrimp!

:D

Pep's are known to do this from time to time. They prolly wont change their tune. It's up to you if you keep them.

i've had peppermint shrimp(just one or two) in my tanks since the beginning, just for the heck of it. they never bothered anything.
meanwhile, if they are killing stuff you want in your tank- it's a no-brainer.
replace them with cleaners or fire shrimp if you want. they are much nicer looking IMO.

My cleaner shrimp is behaving, it is my blood red fire shrimp that has attacked and killed 2 gobies......

Did you actually see the attack? Can you describe it?

That's interesting, don't think I've ever heard of that happening.

If the gobies where sick (death bed) I coudl see a fire shrimp, well anything, attack them. Other then that my personal experience is fires and cleaners do not attack any animals, but do steal food from polyps :)

anyone else had bad experiences with peppermint shrimp? I have 2 cleaner shrimp, a few clams, some zoo's, a bunch of SPS and few LPS. I'm struggling with Aptasia, I tried a copperband - didn't eat the aptasia, infact didn't eat anything.... was thinking about trying some peppermint shrimp, guess I'm looking for a buyer beware if there is one..
