Laptop power supply

Hey all,

I have two MSI netbooks that aren't powering up with the power supplies. One laptop will power up on battery and the other battery is dead. The laptops are two years old and both on their second power supply. The power supplies have a red led that does light up when plugged in. How can I tell if it's the laptop or the power supplies giving me issues?

I find it odd that either both power supplies or both laptops crapped at the same time. How do I troubleshoot?

try leaving the power supply and battery plug in at least 5 min before turning it on. if problem persist, hold down the power button 5-6 secs.

Is the power supplies supplying enough juice? Check with a multimeter if you have one...

I'm picking up a multimeter tomorrow. My initial thought was the bricks are bad; but the chances that two of them went bad at the same time?

Yea, huge coincidence both went bad at the same time. Unless they both were plugged in during a surge?

What model are your netbooks?
