you use a 24" fixture? i don't want that. i want a 20" fixture. i am missing your point. doesn't the fixture hang over the sides of the tank?

The outer orbit 24" fixtures work too - I use one, there's no spillover of light off the sides.

Yep, by a bit more than an inch on either side. Since none of the bulbs go within an inch of either side, there's no light spillover. And since the legs are adjustable, it easily fits on a 20" long tank.

See the point now? Even though it's a 24" fixture it works just fine on a 20" tank. You can see it in the pics in my thread over in the members tanks sections

My fixture is a 150w MH and 2x65w PC and its hanging from the ceiling on pendant cables and its 24 inches long by around 15 deep made by Coralife I think, but since I pretty much use any brand of bulb in it only the fixture and works are actually Coralife. I have had it 2 years no probs yet.

But I can see mr X point with wanting a 20" front to back fixture for a square tank, it would probably fit better. You can find metal halide fixtures that are square, but you would have to find a different way to do the acitinics.

Oh by the way I use the LEDs on all the time as well. :D

What's the benefit of leaving the LEDs on all the time? Mine are only on when my lights are off.
I would guess little to no benifit (might add a watt or two) mine are on all the time just because I did not put them on a timed circuit. :D
