I got an acorpora with a small crab. I read that these are commensual crabs but what do they do, eat? Is it a good idea to leave them in a tank with softies and polyps and sps? Thanks

It is perfectly fine for there to be a commensal crab in your acropora colony. It should be either a white "bandit" crab, white with a black strip across the eyes, or a purple-pinkish colored crab. If it is a "hairy" looking crab watch it closely as these have been known to pick at some of the acropora polyps. I have a few of the hairy spp. of crabs and have never had a problem though. HTH..
