i was checking my water and i never did magnesium. I bought the kit and all levels were good but with the magnesium it gave me some outstanding # like 9056 when it has to be in the 1400 range.

anyway to get that down?

Re-read the directions for the Magnesium kit - you are forgetting to divide the number or subtract (or something). The directions on those kits are the most complicated of all.
Your tank would be quite dead if your Mg was that high!

+1 Once I accidentally added double the magnesium amount with the ESV salt while doing a water change. It's very obvious when your magnesium is high. There's a certain unique sweet stingy smell to it. And cloudy water methinks
