Last night I was up late working in my room and i rarely have my room light on after my tank lights turn off. But I saw what little looked like free swinging fry in my tank. To small to take a pic of the were swimging on the side near the room light. The only pair i have is a pair of clowns but they were on the opposite side of the tank. Any thoughts of what it is?? There were over 30 of them

You should try catching them in a glass to make a closer abservation.Check to see if there is eggs on the glass or on the rocks .Clowns are eggs layers.I'v had yellow tail damselfish spawn in my tank half an hour after the lights go off just to be consumed by the hungry blue green chromis.On the second night i cought a few and had them in my sump but some how they got out.You could also have some hitchikers spawning in your tank.Good luck.

Cleaner shrimp most likely. I had only one and also found fry one night. I then realized a week or so later that my Cleaner shrimp was carrying eggs again. If you see green eggs underneath your cleaner shrimp in a week or two you'll know for sure. They are hermaphroditic so it is completely feasible.

Hiding is probably a sign that the shrimp was ready to molt. It most likely released the fry and molted. Now it is in hiding until its exoskeleton hardens.
