Live rock algea

1.)How much algea is an okay amount to have on your live rock?

2.)How do you know when it's out of control?

3.)When it becomes out of control do you just scrub it off with brush inside aquarium?

judging from your previous post, you are using tap water which is no good. the phosphate levels in tap are perfect for growing algae. if i were you, i'd break down the tank and wait till you get proper equipment before doing anything else. have somebody hold on to your LR for you

1.OK as long as it does not annoy you. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
2. When it takes over everything and grows faster than you can remove it.
3. Try to remove rock that needs brushing. Doing it in the tank fouls the water and just spreads it to places that did not have it before. Sometimes you can remove it by hand and take the pices out. It depends on the type of algea.
