Again, not my cup of tea, but excellent if they can make them more available in the hobby and take the strain off the wild population in the process.

McCulloch's are neat but when they can start breeding Amphiprion latezonatus I might actually buy some. If they're under a grand per pair anyways.

Good for them, while aquaculture is great at that price point I'd guess there's not a terribly large culling of the ocean to get them. I could be wrong though.

While the subject is great is sure does get tiring to have every post by you now a link to your own blog. RC shut you down today, wonder how long RDO will put up with it? You don't see http://www.ReefBuilders.com or http://glassbox-design.com/ spamming forums with their entries ;)

i'm posting aquarium related topics on aquarium forums. i honestly don't see what the big deal is. it's great that reefbuilders and glassbox can do what they are doing and have interesting topics that they post daily.

i've been in this hobby for years. i have been an avid poster on local forums all throughout my state. i like to share knowledge and news on topics that you won't find on the reef boards. nobody else posted any of those topics on rdo or rc. so how else are these people supposed to find this information out? sure, they can go search for it, but what's the big deal about me posting about it? it's obvious by responses to my posts that a lot of people didn't hear about the topics i posted about. i never even heard of reefbuilders or glassbox until after i started my own blog and i'm sure others haven't. if they wanted to post aquarium related topics on aquarium related boards, then be my guest. nothing wrong with it.

recently i started a blog. i never thought in a million years i would make a blog. it's all new to me. i have my own website...which is awesome in my mind. i make a post to a website that i've been a member of for a few years. the post is hobby related and this is how i get treated. i'm not spamming boards, i'm not posting porn...i'm posting stuff about this great hobby.

oh well, you can't please everyone all the time. if you get annoyed, then don't look. and btw...nobody shut me down. i was simply told the rule is that you cannot post links to other sites...and i will comply with their wishes. i am still a member on rc and will continue to be one. i still have full posting privileges, but they just don't allow linking to other sites. they went about it tactfully (unlike yourself) and for their respect to me, i'll respect them.

Shut down doesn't have to equate to being banned. The thread was locked, or shut down in the sense you can no longer post to it. We have different opinions about the usefulness of cross posting the same post on multiple forums, all of which are simple reposts from your blog, such is life. Reef Builders gets around 1/2 million unique views a month last I heard so they're doing something right.

Many forums do feel there is something wrong with it Brandon which is why both sites you suggest can go do it don't. There is nothing wrong with making informative posts, just try to spice them up a bit is what I am mainly suggesting (change them even ever so slightly forum to forum, blog to forum, etc) so it's not the same thing forum after forum. Like you I post on a ton of forums daily. I love helping other reefers be successful. Heck, Kevin is a friend of mine, I'm glad your posting about his experience with the McC's (I'm in line for a pair in fact :).

i see your point about all of it, and i agree the posts should be different between forums.

but like i said, i'm just trying to spread knowledge. i'm nowhere near as popular as reefbuilders or glassbox. they have an awesome ad campaign or something going on that i cannot afford even in the slightest bit to match. i was just trying to expand my hobby to include a blog and i figured the best way to share it was on forums.

Nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't be where I am today if this dang hobby didn't keep leading me down the aquarist road

I know Reef Builders is a team of people, but it started just like yours :) I'll let you all do the blogging though, I barely have time to keep up with my tanks
