Looking At Corals From top of tank...

I shut off the pumps today to look down into the tank and siphon some detritus. Never realized that everything looks more colorful looking down into the water instead of looking through the glass. Is this a pretty normal thing? Maybe this is one of the reasons why the corals always look better on the vendors website vs when i'm looking at them in my tank through the glass. I know theres many other reasons why.. but never noticed this before...

Yeah I wish gravity didn't effect water my tank would be sideways

It's normal. The side facing the light is usually brighter in color. You should get an acrylic top down viewer, which is Also great for taking pics through.

I had pale corals because of super clean tank and having my LEDs too intense. Ive been working the last month on extra feeding and proper light acclimation. Looking down in the tank made me feel a lot better since colors are starting to come in that i didnt notice from the side.

The glass usually has a green tint to it, though starfire glass maybe more clear, it does change the way the corals look when you view them through the glass, as opposed to looking at them from the open top of the tank.
