Yesterday I made a significant change to my display tank. I set my display tank up (february) and decided to go BB with it, but didnt place anything under the rocks. I purchased a flat sheet of pvc board from another member here and had some time off of work to make the change. this required removing everything from the tank and placing in storage barrels, tanks, ect... i completely cleaned the inside of the tank using a mr clean unscented sponge and vacuumed out the rest of the water and debri left behind. Everything went back in and I incorporated a decent water change in the process. The corals and fish looked fine but i noticed last night some corals had not opened up fully and assumed it was from the transfer and possible temp swing. The salinity was at 1.22. im normally at 1.26. i didnt want to
shock everything in tank with drastic change in salinity and when i came home from work i went to remove some water from the tank to mix salt with and noticed two shrimp dead. Could this be from low salinity? i have had both since march with no issues. they were pretty pissed off being caught yesterday...but were fine shortly after being placed back in dt

Joe, are you sure you didn't see two molts? Maybe the shrimp are hiding while their carapace hardens? The stress of moving them could have induced a molt and you're seeing their exoskeletons. Just a thought.

Keep an eye out. Normally a couple of days from molt to a safe, hardened carapace. They tend to hide more during that transition period for safety reasons. They're much more susceptible to predatory attack right after a molt.

if they die and you want to buy more and need to split shipping from anywhere, let me know.

I want 2 more bloods, 2 more cleaners but dont feel like driving to Max Reefs until maybe last week of November.
