Loud tanks?

Hey guys... I am just curious. How loud are your tanks?

For some reason I feel it's the return pump and skimmer making the most noise. Not splashing noises but the noise of the actual needle wheel or whatever propels the water.

Is there anyway to make your tanks quiet? I know the Red Sea Max is freakishly quiet...

Depends on what equipment you're using...which return pump do you have? Skimmer pump? Eheim's are pretty quiet, reasonably priced and efficient...

I find beckett's are the quietest for a skimmer, but if hard lined above the water line(properly done) it will be a little bit of noise from the splash..

mine very quiet, i dont own a return pump just a skimmer and the deltec300 is very quiet.

well on the 54 gallon it's a Sedra 3500 hooked up to the skimmer and for the return I got a Rio1200 (I believe)

I find Remora skimmers to be very loud... But "loud" is a relative term...
