MAC Survey?

All,

Has anyone else received an email with a link to a MAC survey? I just finished it - despite their saying "take a few moments of your time" it took me about 45 minutes. I should have been tipped off by the other sentence that said it was "a comprehensive survey on individuals’ knowledge ". Comprehensive indeed! My head hurts!
While I am a HUGE supporter of anything that will help reefs, and want to help MAC in any way I can, this survey struck me as way too ponderous. I bet they don't get a 10% response rate for completed surveys, and then those results will be so complex they'll never be able to evaluate the data. Why do they have to make everything so difficult?

p.s. - aquarists on a British web site seemed to think that the link to the survey actually contains personally identifiable information, at least when they tried to use one guy's link to the survey, it wouldn't work...you can only respond once, to the original email sent to you....

Whenever you get an email with a disclaimer like the one below, it does tend to make one suspicious. Who knew saving reefs required such secrecy. I guess it is designed to instill confidence in the organization, but it has a somewhat chilling effect IMO.

To bad those disclaimers don't hold much legal weight. They're mearly a scare tactic.

The era of paranoia ...........
was suposed to have ended with a new era of openess and freedom of expression that is said to be evolving.
Perhaps the survey was designed prior to the new administration.
In which case, it should be more user friendly .
The fear of information exchange and freedoms of speech that typified the previous administration are hard to understand as there was so little worth stealing, copying or borrowing.
The new administration has shown a willingness to listen...and learn....has it not?
