Hey everyone had a question this is my first time using a mag pump on my system. It's a 120 gallon tank and I was adjusting the flow and ran it dry for a few minutes but before that it smelled like something was burning. Nevertheless it burnt out I mean smoked a cloud of smoke came ou of my stand. So I purchased a brand new one and it still smells anyone know if this just smells or is something up? It's hooked to my neptune unit and the neptune is fine but why have both of these pumps smelled like this? Thanks

Master , by further reaserching that smell actually found out what really happen, my heater had cracked a nice hair line crack down the middle it's in the same chamber as my return pump so didn't think to check that as well. And notice that it wasn't the pump it was the heater I guess when the chamber when dry the heater was still on I definitely do not like these heaters I've had plenty of other heaters that were in the same situation and did not do this. Anyway just thought I would share that.thanks.
