Marineland LED vs Aqualight PC?

I went into Pets Warehouse today. I was looking into the Marineland LED system they had there. It was very reasonably priced. I wanted to upgrade and I just wanted to get thoughts out there on this unit.

I have a 90 mixed reef that is 48 long and 18 deep. Can I get away with purchasing 1 unit?

It had great reviews, but I figure I ask before I make my decision.

I doubt you will have enough light with Marineland LED, it is a very low powered system.

Send a Pm to Young Reef, I remembered he checked out couple brand of LEDs before. Of course, you should ask Warren because not only did he check out couple brands, he actually owned couple brand of the LED systems.

More often than not, you get what you pay for.... Some of the better LED's out there are the ones from Acan lighting and Aqua Illuminations, but you will find that they cost quite a bit more. I know a few people who say they are having some good success with the LED fixtures from Reefkoi and they are reasonably priced. The AI and Acan LED's are going to have more bells and whistles and also more PAR. Other LED fixtures out there include Pacific Sun and Maxspect and Ecoxotic and there are many more. Just do a search and look at the reviews and educate yourself so you can make your own decision. It really depends on what you are looking to accomplish and how much you have to spend.

Since you are in Long Island, you can go to Tropical Island in Deer Park where he has at least 2 to 3 brands of LED setups that you can physically check out.

save your money and buy a quality light if you go with a cheaper light you will not be happy and end up spending more in the long run
