Media reactor help

I have 2 reef octopus MF1000 ,, 1 has bio pellets the other purigen. Neither is tumbling even though the water is flowing very well. I first tried a small pump on each and had no movement but the water passed through now I've got a mag9 split to feed both and only slightly better...what should I do?

Yes. I put enough media in each one to just barely cover the bottom cones. Am I supposed to use more?

Edd is trying to ask you if the water is being fed thru the correct inlet/outlet. Maybe the water is coming in thru the top and going down instead of from bottom to the top.

Yeah its flowing the right way. My question is am I supposed to keep more media than I have because there seems to be a dead zone and upon research I saw people are putting a pound of media in there and I'm barely past the cone at the bottom.

use the amount of media according to directions of the particular media your using for the gallons of your system.

Start lower then recommended with bio pellets than add more later to recommendation. Not all at once.
