Someone just suggested this food. It's called dr g's medicated foods. Has anyone ever used or heard of this? Been googling and doing some research. Some positive, some negative.

Yes I have heard/read that also. Was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with these foods. May be something I look into for the future just in case. They say the fish spit a lot of it out cause they can taste the medicine. Best to starve the fish for a few days, soak it in garlic or selcon to give it some flavor and then break off little pieces. Wondering if anyone carries this in New York. Supposed to be big in Atlanta and Miami

Never starve your tank. Use a drop of garlic extract to increase there eating habbits and u can feed them anything. Also I don't believe in using medicine for anything. I use garlic every 3 days and feed them a very large variety of foods. You can look up the diy foods on youtube. Tangs eat macro algae so put that in tanks and allot of seaweed. I noticed if you bend up all the meaty stuf with garlic and sea weed all the fish will eat a little bit of everything. Hope this helps.

Yes I will give ole russy Russ a call. Just looking for a healthy vitamin enriched food formula that I can start feeding when I get some more fish. Keep there immunity strong. Some say vitamin C also. Richie has a concoction he makes but I haven't been able to get the ingredients from him yet. I hear the foods to make this mixture is readily availiable in Chinatown for cheap but I rarely get out there. Just invested in a brand new blender for this

Problem is all fish don't readily accept pellets. I like tangs a lot. Only reef safe fish there are it seems like. Future plans calls for purple tang, sohal tang(yes they are aggressive)wantebei angels male/female. Achilles tang, blonde naso, regular naso, Australian harlequin tusk, possibly blue throat trigger, red tail trigger. Not sure all these tangs are even compatible. But I do know they mostly eat algae based. Gotta keep there immune strong to combat ich

See I was wondering that also. Cause they say garlic causes liver problems. But some dose every feeding. Others dose every couple days. Figured I would do it every other day with the garlic/selcon

Wish I had more time to observe. I get up early in the morning to be at roll call by 6:45am. I live 40 minutes away from work so I'm out the house by 6am the latest(lol yeah right. Doing 80-85 everyday to get to work on time). Then I'm at work till 3 but I mostly do overtime so I don't get off until 11. At home by 12. After showering and taking care of the wife(lol) I'm in bed by 1 to be right back up to do it all over again. I do give it a look before I go to work but the lights are just turning on so I don't see much. Only time I spend time with my tank are my days off. And that's splitting time with the kids, the wife, the dog, errands, volunteer coach for football, basketball, and church

works great

I have been using it for over 6 months now with great results.
I cured ick in my sps reef tank with a chevron, yellow belly, and purple tang. Its true that some fish will spit it out. But what I did was to soak new era and shredded pieces or nori in it. That got all the tangs into it. the anthias got into the new era soaked at first and eventually took the caviar. I would also supplement with the dr g's medicated frozen food, which has nori and phytoplankton . I was not running carbon when i treated that tank and by the end I noticed that some of my sps was losing color. As soon as I added carbon back to my reactor the coral stopped losing color and before I knew it all the color came back. Now I always run carbon at the same time and didn't notice any effects when I treated another system.
I use the dewormer on all new fish in qt religiously. Because I noticed that after treating some anthias, i had, that they finally fattened up. Once the internal parasites were gone they had more energy for themselves. I have been treating the QT water with Praziquantel for awhile but that only got rid of external hitchhikers. Its so easy and has really helped my fish fatten up.
All the medicated foods already have both garlic, amino acids, and vitamin supplements added to them. So there is no need to add supplemental garlic to it.
There was no one in upstate new york that sold it and I was tired of running to house of fins or absolutly fish, so i ordered a lot. If anyone needs any send me a message. I live in Kingston NY
