Hey MR,

I have a melanarus wrasse in my tank but am looking to add another wrasse. I really like the mystery wrasse and can get one for a great price. I have a 57g tank with a lot of rock and a decently thick sandbed. Would these two wrasses be able to go together? or should I just leave the mel and that's it? I do not want any fighting or my tank looking like a disaster when I wake up... Input please, greatly appreciated.

You have a lot of rock so you should be fine, of course it usually depends on the fish but I doubt you'll have issues. They may mess with each other for an hour or two at first but hopefully the aggression should subside.

I have a 57 rimless but I always wanted to get another wrasse. The good thing is that they are both around the same size. I think I am going to go for it and see what happens. Thanks for the input guys.

the down side to having those two fish together is they constantly are searching for food and quickly can wipe a pod population out. doubt they would be a issue together other then what i mentioned

oh, just seeing this.
I have both of these fish in my 80g tank.
I have a lot of fish that love pods so, I have chaeto and a tiny filter pad in my sump for pods to populate. I also purchase a batch of amphipods every 3 or so months. Just to help boom and overlap generations.

I don't believe there is any real need to buy copepods. When I look at my tank at night, or a spot on the wall that I don't clean as often (like the joint of the glass which is hard to get!!) I see pods there all the time, without my replenishing them.

I don't think it will be a problem. My melanarus eats everything in sight lol. I mean he even eats clams that I put in for my puffer. If the mystery has an appetite like him I will not be worried what so ever. Thanks for the input guys. Will update when the mystery is put in.
