That said, I gave up testing Mg back what my marine chem guru, Craig Bingman, said in so many words, that Mg testing is worthless. Test results are all over the map, tests aren't reproducible, and different kits give different results. He thinks Ca testing is more appropriate. If you're doing your water changes, then your Mg is probably OK if your Ca checks OK. I suggest you read his opinions on Reef2Reef in their Chemistry Forum, where he's the moderator.

Or you could buy my Hanna Mg Checker from me and see if you get the same results on both of your Checkers! ☺️
