Hey,

I have a fixture that has 1 250w HQI and 4 24" T5s. Right now I have current brand bulbs in it (not sure how good that is) and it is pretty bright white.

Right now the configuration is 10K MH and 420nm Actinic T5s.

Should I go with a 20K mh and go daylight with the t5s or should I keep the actinic t5s and just add maybe a 15k as opposed to the 10k?

Any suggestions?

How about 250 watt phoenix 14K and 2x10K and 2x actinic T5s?

I'm not sure the 10K T5s would make very much difference with the MH blue.... Gives me something fun to contemplate doesnt it!

I'm also new to 250w.. been in the 400w zone for a while. What are some great brands for 250w? Does Pheonix seem to be #1?

Pheonix bulbs are very pleasing to the eye, have good PAR, and with a lack of bad press on the web makes me think they are reliable.

Maybe you could use 2xactinics and 2xactinic whites with the pheonix bulb. However, I disagree that the 10K T5's wouldn't change the color of the tank.

Im on my third set of phoenix bulbs and love them. I went with a set of reeflux 10k (to get more bulb life)for about four months but nearly killed a bunch of SPS with too much light so I went back.
