Mint and Mosquito

Mint is said to be one of the five plants that repel mosquito but this year, mosquitoes are found hanging out around my mint(they actually seems to like it). Last year, they don't get near the mint. What's up-GMO mosquitoes or my mint is from GMO seed?

I will try to shoot a video to make sure what insects I am seeing.

OMG! Confirmed! They are mosquitoes on the mint plant. I don't want to get rid of my mint as it cannot really eradicate the problem unless my neighbor do their part of drying the puddles.
