I used it. My experience with it was that you have to replace half of it every year and it's pricey. As far as benefits I did notice my nitrates drop when I got rid of it and put a DSB with live rock in my fuge..

I used to help maintain a few tanks that used it. It is fine and potentially useful for the purpose, but IMHO so ridiculously overpriced that I would not personally elect to use it. It's useful, not magical, and there's no reason to think it provides some particular benefit to the aquarium that cannot be achieved in many other ways, and often times much more cheaply...again, IMHO.

I was wondering about the mud. I read somewhere that it could rise ammonia & nitrates. Also your phosphates. Has this happen to any of you guys.

Knock on wood it did not happen n I have running miracle mud for a year n a half

Under normal circumstances it should do the opposite. However, anytime a biologically active filter is disturbed its ability to process nitrogenous wastes at least will decrease, allowing their concentrations to go up.
