mushrooms and ugly rock

i recently purchased some mushrooms from live aquaria, the rocks are so ugly i don't want to keep them in my tank, can i safely remove the mushrooms and get them to stay on my rock? any suggestions??

I think mushrooms are a tank pest, but if you leave them in the tank for awhile they will spread to other rocks. Then just remove the "ugly" rocks.

If the rock is huge and ugly, you can consider taking a chisel to the back of the rock and breaking off the excess. If it's small and ugly, I wouldn't worry too much about it as the mushrooms will overgrow the rocks in very short time. I do consider them somewhat of pests since they grow very fast, sting what's around them, and are very tough to get rid of in the future. Pretty though
