i wanted to be more efficient with our common enemy of reefing-- CON ED!. rather then have a pump for everything i wanted to have it so that my return pump would run 2 other things. my fluidized reactor and a UV. those are set up with gate valves and flow meters to be more accurate with the flow to them respectively and to what is returning to the tank. the red dragon brings 1200gph @ 49 watts. i will be bringing down approximately 1000 gph. i should be returning approximately 800GPH back to the tank. the skimmer does 930 gph on a whole 38watts :) . by running it this way i save on any pump to fluidized and uv. i will have another pump feeding a refuge once i can get it up and going. i am in the process of finishing the frame work for the last cabinet. it has to be different because it will contain most of the electricity. away from the water. safety measure. i hope i explained it well for all to understand and learn. will post more pictures soon
thanks

her eis an update on where i am at. i ran into some small annoying problems that i am in the process of eliminating. 1st a bulk head leak changed with a new one. then the flex was leaking so now i changed that one. LOL. real annoying. now i am up to aquascaping and setting up these monitors. the skimmer. HOLY COW!! it frothed up within an hour of starting it and its real quiet. very little play involved. i guess you get what you pay for as they say. now the new thing is how to tackle the sound of the drain when it empties into the filter sock. wife already said it was to loud. LOL.

I don't see the microbubbles you were talking about.:) It looks great Matt. The rocks are much nicer then the others you had in the old set up. Your going to have an awesome tank in no time.
Congratulations...

Looks great! I second no windex and the use of a wet paper towel, but for no streaks wipe it dry with newspaper.

yes u r right jesus. i have a built in water change pipe into my return drain. so when i need a water change all i have to do is hook up some flex hose shut the 1 valve and open that one and out comes the water for an easy change. its right before the manifold with the red ball valves

Matt, looks nice. You've got a lot of plumbing going on there. Good work.

Those rocks look like they are perched very precariously there. Are they epoxied or secured together some how? I'd hate to see one of them fall over on your barebottom (that didn't sound right :lol2: ).

LOL 2 MY barebottom. i am have the epoxy on its way. they are perched at this time. i still need to get more rock. but i got a couple of shelf rocks from marco rocks to help out. they are very porous and nicely shaped. its a lot of fun. once i get the epoxy i will make the aquascape what you see here. then i will get more rock. my goal is to make a lot of space for the corals to grow and that is the need for the shelf rock. i have plenty of flow so its a wait and see thing. cant believe how good that skimmer is. already pulling the nog out. very little play with it as well

a couple of updates. here is a picture with lights on. will get another set of t5's. have to cant run actinics all day. water parameters are as follows.
PH 8.1
p4 0.66
nitrates 0
am 0
nitrite 0
temp 77 right now

ATO -- there is something wrong with it. i have adjusted the settings and to no avail i hear the pump working but it is not turning. at present i have no idea how to fix this. the other doser is waiting for bionic delievery to get that up and going. i have 2 2 1/2 gallion tanks waiting for the bionic to start up the levels necessary to run a reef tank. skimmer is kicking a$$ and taking names.
