Looks good! Is that eggcrate on top of the tank? If it is, you're going to lose a lot of your lights intensity as it will reflect & block a lot of light from getting into the tank.

Hi Kris,
Yes it is eggcrate but the jury is out on that one. Some old readings from Anthony Calfo suggest the opposite is true, that it actually reflects the light down. Either way the lights are so bright for my softies and LPS and they're suspended 16" above the surface. 2X 250 watt 14000k Phoenix bulbs. The light is a bright white with a blue tint, much less blue than it appears in the pics. I love the Aqua Medic external ballasts.
My mind is at ease with eggcrate because I don't want to risk losing a fish to jumping. It seems that they will never jump until one day it happens and you wish you had the tank covered ; )

Yes it's the 80 gal frag tank. I originally wanted rimless but I like the option of being able to cover it with eggcrate especially for wrasses. Rimless is beautiful though.

Almost there. The stand is going to look amazing. I'm treating this tank like my baby even though it might be your baby soon ; ) I am super meticulous and clean. You won't be disappointed.

Still working on the skin for the stand. It needs the final coats of high gloss epoxy paint and the hidden hinges. My next project will be painting the light fixture to match.
