thats a 'normal' behavior for an anenome. They will walk around until they find a spot where they like it and will settle there. I had one anenome do that to me and it RIP now. Try to put something over the hose of the intake like a sponge or a stocking of some kind so it wont get sucked in.

It took me over a year to work up the courage to get an anemone (other than the nuisance kind, that is). Got an RBTA - placed it as recommended. Saw its behind SMACK in the middle of the front glass for a day, then couldn't find it, then finally found it all the way in the back of the tank on the bottom.

Thankfully, nothing got hurt. It now settled (for about 5 days) into a crevice towards the front of the tank and is somewhat visible. What I see is about 10% of it - still beautiful.

I have a 90g that gets direct sunlight. I had a GBTA that had a perfect spot:inlove:. He dicided to go for a walk one night:bunny: and i couldn't find him:banghead:. When I did, 3 days later, it was under a rock all the way in the back. Needless to say, he was then a White BTA :supermad:. I put him back in the same spot. The next morning, he was on the other side of tank under another rock. I stepped out, came back and he was gone.....:Yikes: presumed :dead1: I filed a missing anemone report but, that didn't go over well. So, I purchased a RBTA and now my b/w clown loves him:hug: and it hasn't moved from the same spot that the GBTA was.... still looking for him...:google:
