Stunning aquarium!

Quick question about your setup...

I too run mostly lps and softies in my 29 gal but i went the BB approach when i set mine up.

How long has your system been running?

I like the BB tank as far as cleaning practices go but a small shallow bed might be nice to get back that "real' feel...lol

in the pics, you look to be using small grain aragonite, is that right?

I have alot of fine oolitic left from my last tank but I always figured it was a poor choice to use in a shallow bed.

my last tank was a 55g mixed reef with an 8" dsb and after 4 years of bliss, the tank crashed. not due to the dsb and was long story. I salvaged what I could and made the 29g from the survivors.

I am beginning to gather info to begin a big inwall setup this time and am sticking with the same LPS softie combo this time round. SPS is beautiful but i have been there and cost to maintain and needed equipment doesn't fit into the budget on my new project.

In closing.... Verry Verrrrry Nice Reef!!!!!!!

Nice tank. What sort of bulbs do you have for the four T5's?

I have one of each from front to back:

ATI Blue Plus, ATI Aquablue Special, UVL Superactinic, GE 6500K.

The tank is a little over 3 years old. Most of the rock and some corals came from a 30 G. that was 18 months old.

I am using the sea floor grade sand (1-2mm grain size) which is larger than oolite . I think this size is great because I like to stir up the bed once and awhile with an acrylic rod.

That is a seriously nice tank and a welcomed change of pace from the norm AquaBucket, err, FragBox. :D
