I was thinking about putting mylar on 3 sides of my tank. A lot of light must leave the tank thought the glass. I figure why not bounce some of the light back into the tank and reduce the waste. After searching I am surprised that this topic hasn't really came up. I see people talking about using it in the canopy.

If spectrometers weren't so expensive I would do an experiment to determine how effective it will be. Why don't people use it on the side of the tank? Do you think it will be effective.
