Need help identifing

I know this is hard with no picture but I found what I thought to be several sundial snails in my tank. So I removed and flushed. I then looked them up on google last nite and they looked different. They were small oval snails. There shells came to a point in the middle and had 6 black stripes coming from the point straight down to the shell. Their shells were almost flat. At first I thought it was some type of barnacle. They were also very hard to remove. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

btw, that's pretty screwed up killing something without knowing what it is.
