I have a 65 gallon reef which I have been running under a 2 x 96 bright kit from ahsupply since January. I decided to add a 175W metal halide (10,000 K), which I did last night. When I turn on the pcs (6700K and 7100K blue), it pretty much ruins the effect of the MH. Anyone else out there running equal or more pc wattage than their MH, and if, so, what combination do you use. Ideally, I would like to keep the 10,000K bulb as it is brand new. Would adding 2 true actinics look better and not wash out the rippling effect of the MH?

Thanks,

Lee

I do not understand the effect you are trying to acheive? It sounds like you have intensifieed your lighting, good. When you turn on your lights that give you the blue lighting the MH is not washing it out, better. I would perfer more blue than the other way around for my coral. I may not understand the question though.
