need Mini Brittle Starfish

U can usually get them when u purchase live rock. But if ur ever in bx or manhattan I gave u some for free. I don't ship but these are pretty common hitchhikers IMO.

all the rock in my tank is base rock. i do not like taking thing from the wild.

Lol no not from the wild I mean from other members or from a local fish store. They sell live rock that usually but not always come with some kind of hitchhikes.

You can buy them on line but they are expensive especially if you you can get them for free. Just keep in mind that little critters don't always work out the way tou want. I used to have hundreds and now they are gone. Tanks go in cycles and just because you intorduce something to your tank does not mean they will prolifertae.
I am sure they help clean up but not really anything major. So they are nice to watch and it is good to have diversity but I wouldn't classify them as something you have to have.

Do not buy them...they will find there way in via coral or other rock....or someone will give you...if you were in NYC i would give you a dozen for free.

A little off topic, but how do you guys take them out? I usually see legs sticking out of live rock but I've never managed to catch any star.

I find them in the overflow, or random places when I move a rock or coral.

i catch them when they are on the glass... I just put a small cup under them then just touch them and they just fall right into the cup.

Are you talking about asterinas or micro brittle stars? Micros don;t tend to hang out on the glass, but asterinas do.:starfish:
