Im gonna be moving to Florida in the spring and was thinking of breaking down my whole system and starting over. I was looking at my tank last night and realized I dont want to get rid of some of my livestock. So I was thinking of down sizing to a 40b and hooking that up to my exsisting 20lng sump and 30 gal display fiuge. I would use about 40-50 lbs of my rock and transfer my 4 fish(small occ. clown, med yellow tang, diamond goby and a blue/green chromis), my shrimp(2 peps, 1 cleaner and a harlequin) and my anemone to the 40. I would then dry out the rest of my rock and store it untill the move. Once it comes time to move, I figured it would be easier to break down the 40 and use a 55 gal plastic barrel for the rock and bag the fish and shrimp for the move. Im gonna move myself with a u-haul truck. Once I get to Florida, I figured I'd setup the 40b for my fish and then cycle the 75 with the dry rock and then transfer everything back to the 75. What do you think? Is there anything Im over looking? Has anyone moved a tank long distance? how did it turn out? Im scared Im gonna lose "wet pets" so I want to be as careful as possible. Thanks in advance for any advice

yea, i would take the advice given and definitely start over. moving is hard enough. worrying about livestock is not going to help. Florida has plenty of livestock.

you could also have someone on here hold the fish until you get down and ship if need be!
