I think I have it down with the amount of reading that I am doing and the feedback that I am getting from MR.

125 gallon reef setup:

what size refugium should I get, and do I need a skimmer?

should I get a canopy to cover up the t5's or LED system?

And with the Caulperia ( I think thats right for the refugium) can I put live rock in with it?

How many Koraline power heads do I need for this. I am getting coral that need moderate to aggresive flow?

As far as the RODI system, I know it goes under the tank but not sure if it should be piped before the refugium or not? Not sure of the placement of it.

Do they make lamps especially made for the refugium?

Thanks to all that reply. I am almost ready for the next step! Can't Wait.

What size refuge-40 breeder.
Do i need a Skimmer?-Yes, but not right now.
Should i get a canopy?Yes it looks better and it prevent your fish from jumping out.
Chaulerpa to use in refuge-C.Prolifera or cheato.
How many Koralia to use?-It depends on how you set up the circulation pump/gph.
RODI-Mine is under my kitchen sink.
Refuge light -You can use a florescent light fixture or PC. Any light is better than no light.

Thanks for the advice. RODI filter under the kitchen sink? Ahah! You use that water to fill the tank! But obviously you add the nitrate to it.

Thank you very much

RODI you can place just about anywhere depending on your particular situation. Under the kitchen/bathroom sink, in the basement, on top of your kitchen counter top.;)
" But obviously you add the nitrate to it." I'm not sure what you mean with this one. We strife for 0 nitrates, so why would anyone want to add them?

I think I have it down with the amount of reading that I am doing and the feedback that I am getting from MR.

125 gallon reef setup:

what size refugium should I get, and do I need a skimmer? +1 40 breeder..skimmer, of course, reef octopus is amazing imo..

should I get a canopy to cover up the t5's or LED system? +1 looks a lot better, safer for fish..what lighting are you using?

And with the Caulperia ( I think thats right for the refugium) can I put live rock in with it? Chaeto is where its at man, good stuff.

How many Koraline power heads do I need for this. I am getting coral that need moderate to aggresive flow? Are you able to invest into a vortech?

As far as the RODI system, I know it goes under the tank but not sure if it should be piped before the refugium or not? Not sure of the placement of it. +1 anywhere really, try to place it in a position somewhat near your tank unless you want to carry all that water..

Do they make lamps especially made for the refugium? any lamp works honestly, get a pc light or a hang on light from home depot..

Thanks to all that reply. I am almost ready for the next step! Can't Wait.
