Hello guys.. I was thinking about buying the new led 28 gal nano cube. I currently have a 10 gal hex tank that i have been running for about 6 years nicely. My main concern is transferring all the rock/corals/fish without having any problems arise.. I have heard mixed advise in regards of current live sand. Some tell me to use new sand and others tell me to scoop up the old sand.. What do you guys suggest.. Any advise will be appreciated.. Heres a pic of my tank 3 years ago.

Being there, done that.
1. Setup your new tank where you want it to be or VERY near by.
(Empty tank, disconnected.
2. Skim (take from top) some water out of your old tank to cover new tank's bottom (about 1/2"
3. Skim some water into large bucket (fill 1/3 to 1/2 bucket)
4. Transfer life rock into that bucket, then put a heater from your old tank in to maintain temperature. Then transfer all your other living critters there
5. I placed new life sand into the new tank, then scooped out old life sand from old tank and placed in the new tank. Then I mixed them up a bit (very gently not to stirr-up much).
6. Add all water from old tank to the new tank.
7. Add life rock from bucket to the new tank.
8. Add all living creatures from bucket to new tank.
9. Add water from bucket to new tank.
10. Top-off new tank with pre-mixed salt water to the level you want (mine is up to the rim.
11. Turn all equipment on and let everything rest for a day or two before making any other changes.
My tank was/is fine after the above process. I was transferring from 12bio to 14biocube in exact steps described above.
