I have had two neon golbys for about 6 to 7 months. The two paired up and semed to be doing great together. I just found one on the sand bed floor dead. What happened? How long do they live for?

They only live for a couple of years. Was it wild caught or aquacultured? If it was wild caught it's difficult to say how old it was when you got it.

I think the average on their life span in captivity is about two years. That's why I never got one. I also feel the same way about shrimps.
