Need advice I plan on Buying a 10 Gallon Tank to put a single Black cap Basselet in it.However I dont intend to break the Tank with him.I have been told that having about 10 to 12 pounds of live rock will speed up the cycling process. Is this true or is this a sales pitch?.how much will this speed up the process if the normal process time is 4 to 6 weeks.Need some wisdom and advice from the Reef Keeper Fish Gods on this one please.

If you can put in 100% cured LR, it will help. The reason IMO is the fully cured rock will have enough helpful bacteria to assist in establishing the tank. Notice I said assist. The reason is because you still will have a cycle, but it might not be as bad. I see you live in Sanford, not to far away from me.

Make sure you have a really good skimmer too.

Also the black cap will probably need a much larger tank to be happy. Not trying to ruin your party, but I think they are recommended for atleast 30 gallon.
