new acrylic tank

so one of my friends gave me this pretty nice 15 or 20 gallon (havent measured yet) acrylic hexagon tank. now my problem is the inside is filthy like there was water sitting in it for a while and left nasty residue on it..my question is how should i clean this thing without destroying it because i would like to set it up with some gargonians and maby a sea fan and a couple of seahorses. if any recommendations for cleaning the inside could be given that would be awesome thanks

Vinegar, hot water, pump. Let it sit for a few hours and it'll look just like new.

+1 on the vinegar. It does wonders. I cleaned an old 90 gallon tank like that and came out looking like new!

turns out i was way off about the size..its a 8 gallon but thats still good for what i want...its been sitting with hot water and vinegar for 3 hours with the pump going ill wait a little longer and see how it looks
