new carbon

hi everyone

i got a box of fluval carbon yesterday but the replacment bag they gave me is much too big for compartmens in the canister,what should i do???
also it was suggested that i leave a gap between the carbon and ceramic rings,should i do this????????

I would guess you could just tie the bag up tighter to use up the extra material. I do not think a gap would hurt you.

You should be able to roll up the bag to fit into any compartment. It isn't very critical how you fit the media in it, so if there's space, don't worry about it.
