I want to thank everyone for the suggestions with my new Iwaki pump. I just finished changing my bulkhead in the sump to a 1 inch and that did the trick. The pump is now very quiet and cool. No more bubbles entering the tank (with my right angle intake). You were all very helpful. It is like the instructions state. Do not restrict the inflow of these pumps!! I guess they really do need the 1 inch intake!
