Hello all,

I just found this site last night and read for about 4 hours. I was looking for info on lighting. Me and my girlfriend want to do a reef tank with multiple corals. I knew I needed Mh for the lighting, but wasnt sure what size and all. This is what I came up with for my tank. ( I have done reef before, just not this big) My tank is 150g measuring 48hx28dx24to the back. I went on the recommendation of the experts here and went to hellolights. http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp?Pa ... rodID=1378

I see they are the xm, I haven't seen anyone talk about these in the past months so are they still the choice of lights. Is the 10000 enough with the t5 that are with them. will this be enough to get to the bottom of my tank. I would like to keep teh price around the 600-700 mark.

Also I am concerned about color when veiwing the tank, but I also want the corals to thrive with the right light.

Thanks in advance.

John

Badatti2de,

:welcome:

I would think that fixture would be great for almost any type of coral you'd choose and have had great service from hellolights in the past.

I was hoping someone would respond. I couldn't wait to order the lights. So off to the online store.

Not to go off topic, but, Lawdawg, are you in law enforcement, I only ask because I myself am a Sgt. in south Fl. Just wondering.

Thx

;) it's your thread, you can lead it off topic if you want too! Yes, I was in law enforcement for 13 years, K9 for six years.
