I am going to upgrade from a 24Nano to a 40 Gal.
I am buying a 40 Gal Seaclear and I am looking for opinions on how to set it up.
It's not reef ready but you can buy a kit at:
http://www.glass-holes.com/category.sc?categoryId=3
Anyone use these kits?
I am going to build the stand. What I would like advise about if the filtation. Sump/refugium, sand bed, what kind of pump (any preferences)etc
In my nano I have crushed coral but I have sand that I would prefer to use in the new tank.
With a deep sand bed I can have inverts that clean "ditrus". Is that correct? I don't mind doing water changes but cleaning the crushed coral is a pain because I the tank is tight. I want to use a lot of live rock with lots of soft coral. Right now i have mushrooms, Xina, devils hand, zoes, kenyan tress, colt, a yuma, and one or two others. As far as fish go I have two clowns, 4 damsels (2 yellow tail, 2 zebra).
I would like to add maybe 1-2 more fish (gobe, warsaw, tang?).
Also, I would also like to add inverts, cleaner shrimp, stars maybe.
I live in an apartment and flooding is a concern. What is the safest system? Hang on skimmer, insump?
Any opinions are welcome.
Thanks
