New Tank Day 2

Day 2

I changed the filter sock and and added a full 4 oz. bottle of MicrobeLift Clarifyer and 1/4 bottle (120 ml) of Special Blend bacteria booster. Not much difference in the first 24 hours. We'll see how it looks tomorrow night.

I'm going to make some slight modifications to the tank. I'll add a GEO Aqua Silencer and re-plumb the return lines. I'll straighten them out using a wye connector instead of a tee to split them off the pump. Hopefully this will quiet the tank down.

I'm also going to glue in some additional acrylic to make it less likely that the sump could overflow out the door on the front. Right now it's got a lot of surface area (roughly 24" x 24") but very shallow (6-7 inches maybe). The sump overflowed a little tonight when I turned off the pump to change the filter sock. So, I need to decrease the surface area and increase the height of the sump compartment's front wall. To be continued...
