So lets here them if you live in NH and had to deal with the (or still current) power issues, due to the storm.
After arriving home from a trip to find my tank at 55 degrees, I began boiling tank water on the gas fireplace and then dumping it directly back into the tank every hour or so. I continued to do this for 2 days and was then able to hit a lucky ace as I found a small 1000w generator at my local auto store. Although it is not enough to power my entire system, it is enough to power the return pump, while fluctuating between the heater and skimmer.
All in all, 4days without a source of light and 2 days of me boiling water to keep the tank above 60degrees, I only lost two fish and my BTA.
I was upset that my stupid False Peculiar clown and Flame hawk made it (the ones you don't like always survive), but happy to see my lawnmower blenny (we call him Murry) and Dwarf Lion survive. However, my Potter's Angel, Yellow headed Sleeper Wrasse and a few LPS Corals perished from the storm.
Use this post to vent if you were not so lucky.

How big is your tank?

With the 1000W generator I would run a single pump in tank, hopefully you have a low wattage one (Tunze, Vortech, Koralia, Modded Maxi) enough to get your normal flow, and a heater, I wouldn't worry about the skimmer personally.

It is a 46Bow with a 10gallon sump and a CPR hang on Fuge on the sump. The small pump and heater is basically what i ended up doing just cycling the skimmer and heater on and off because my Gen-X pumps are such energy hogs it is unreal. A friend borrowed the Generator after and was able to do all his pumps at the same time but was using Iwaki pumps rather then Gen's.
Do we know how long corals can last with no light?
Thanks,
J.
