Noob questions

Hi all, my tanks been up since about about 5 months, unfortunately I ended up losing all my fish except a sturdy snowflake eel (out of DT now) due to ich, and am currently waiting to restock. The only thing I've had to enjoy is my rock- which has started to get a lot of stuff growing on it and was wondering if anyone could help ID it.

I don't think any of it is bad, just looking to educate myself. Thanks!

These worms that appear to be covered in sand or have white skin? Some are 2"+

I think this is a dead sponge? But now has weird stuff growing out of it

Like the featherdusters but paler in color and have longer hairs. Googled pics of aiptasia, but the color seems off.

my thoughts...

1. looks like they are indeed sponges
2. dont think they are worms. cyano can roll up like that sometimes if it is on your sand
3. it is alive if it is whitish/yellowish.
4. its a feather duster

Cool thanks, the worms have two tentacles they use to grab food and after more research I think they are spionid worms. Thanks again!

The "dead sponge" looks like it could be an encrusting SPS coral of some kind that "has the will to live". Can you get another better pic of the things coming out, are they polyps?
