OK I have pyramid snails in the tank How do I cause am mass exodus of them and save my clams I have had my clams for over 7 weeks now and I have noticed little white area on the tip of the clam or the lip on the left and right side, I am in mood to loose the clams so any and all help is much thanked. I have a 6 line but for that fish to do something it would be a stroke of luck.:sad2::sad2:

anthony your best bet right now is let someone hold your clam for you so u can take them out by hand at night time . im not so sure anout the snail will only eat clam or not if they only eat clam then u can strave them to dead

They are a PITA. You need to check your snails as well as they will go after them as well as hermits. Coris grasses might help control them. The six line should do something just stop feeding for a few days. It might help spark up his tastes for some pyramid snails. Right now if you are that infested be prepared to lose your clams and some snails too.

You may lose it. I am speaking from experience. I hope you don't. Remove the clam and clean all you can see win a soft bristle tooth brush put the clam back in and check if more appear. Good luck.

I checked this morning after lights out last night i turned them on and off because I was cheking the clams, but from 12 30 last night till 8:30 this morning. When I woke up I went to the tank looked at the clams and then turned the lights on right away, I saw none of them on or near the clams also do these things eat hermit crabs, or any type of stomella snails.

to be honest with you andy the are little spirial snails but they are so small you have to put your face to the glas to see them. I see that they are growing and making new shell. I just dont get it. I saw about 2 of them on one snail no where near the mouth of the clam or the bottom of the clam just on the actual shell its self. I have removed them and then brushed the shell, the other clam I have is ancored into the sand so I am not moving it. but I only say this little white thing spiral shell on the clam well on teh shell of the clam

At this point a picture would be best to determine if you have pyramid snails or tiny feather dusters or something else.

Ant..try and post up a pic......if they are and your clam's mantles are still opening fully they can be saved.....hermits and snails should be fine....all mine survived. You may have to set up a small tank for the clams, manually pick out any snails in them, until they are eradicated from the display....a six line and a yellow coris took care of mine
