I love this site. I have been in the hobby for over 35 years. Started out with Aqua King Filter, then under gravel filters, then canister, then wet-dry filters with bio balls, then took out bio balls since they were considered bad, then the berlin method. I would spend hours doing all sorts of tests. I remember when bristtle worms were considered bad, and should be removed from the tank at all costs.
I find it funny reading the threads on how to kill or remove items from our tanks. 15 years ago I would have been thrilled to keep a gorilla grab, manjo anemone or a anthipatsa (spelling) alive, but now we see these things as pests. As a matter of fact, fish stores use to sell large anthipasta anemones on a rock. The good news is the hobby has advanced, and we can keep animals alive for longer periods of time, and house animals in a tank that were thought to be impossible not long ago.....
