I'm just starting out and I was was given this filter and was wondering what size tank is it good for?

Sal, is this a canister filter?
if it is, doesn't even matter what size it's rated for because it won't be sufficient for the mechanical filtration.
what kind of tank setup do you have, or have in mind? knowing this will allow us to better suggest proper equipment.
