Old Filter Media

I am currently cycling a 72 gal tank. I have a total of about 80 pounds dead rock znd 75 pounds live rock. 80# live sand.
Would it be beneficial to take the old filtr media from my 24 aquapod and put it in the sump of the new tank. Filter media consists of 1/2 of a right size pad. and old chemi pure.
I have already done this, so i hope its ok.

I don't think it is going to do much at all, but then again I don't think it will hurt anything either/

You should have no problems with doing that......assuming there were no harmful pathogens in your 24g AP.

I just figured that there be some bacteria and old food, detrius to jump start the tank.
If that is not so I will take it out because its serving no purpose.
The 24 has been running great fo 6 months, goodgrowth, good color on corals, and nice healthy fish.

You should have no problems with doing that......assuming there were no harmful pathogens in your 24g AP.

I don't think you'll have any problems. I would just leave it and let it start to mature.
