What are your personal opinions on using black sand for a deep sand bed? (Not looking for opinions on DSB's by the way, that's like talking politics...)

Painting back of tank black? It has a slightly unnatural look but grows on you. Makes colors pop nicely

Is this DSB going in the DT or fuge?

Black sand looks great when you install it but as time goes by and critters erode your rock it will become littered with lighter colored particles, so be prepared for that.

I have to agree with Kathy. I was going to do black in my tank, but after asking that same question all over. Most people gave the same advice. It will be come cluttered with crap.

Agreed with the rest of the crew being I have a 2-3" black sand bed in my tank. I also find that the particle size of the black sand vs white sand is much larger which is annoying because you see all these little rocks etc..

Good to know! Part of the reason I thought about doing this was because my current DSB does not look very clean. I have a very hardy clean up crew, but I'm still seeing chunks and other stuff that makes it appear unclean. I guess I'll stick with it for now...Thank you all for taking the time to express your opinion.
