Very nice Controller

It is very easy to use and they are more readily available in the used threads maybe not here but in rc if your looking to buy used.

The other key point is reliability I trust the RK2 more than the Rk Elite.

If your going to use high wattage Items on it get the expansion slots that have higher amperage capabilities.

The RK2 has been discontinued. There are plenty left on shelves, but those will go pretty quickly. Digital Aquatics has replaced it with the Reef Keeper Lite. There are three various models to choose from within the Lite series. The Lite will be available beginning in February.

a replacement? say it ain't so, hey russ is this true I thought the lite was an addition to the lineup.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It is a replacement, not in addition. :( The Lite is supposed to be an excellent change. It offers options to make it less expensive and more expensive, depending upon the option level selected. The flexibility will make it a nice replacement.

Customer service on the forum might take a while if you do have a problem, but as long as you keep the receipt from where you got it from, keep an extra fuse on hand and after a year replace it totally,,lol you should be fine... I used to love mines much like everyone else.. But there's bound to be a bad one in the batch with most mass produced items..Just make sure you get it from a place that can send you a receipt if you lose it, and be prepared to pay shipping both ways and a $25 fee for each plug that needs to be replaced.. All in all I guess you can say I think Digital Aquatics Sucks..
My new controller will be the Aquacontroller 3 I like the 2 ph probe option without the hefty RKE price and it's ability to be upgraded as my system changes.. I'm still learning about though so hopefully it will pan out..

Happy Reefing

How hard is it to calibrate the probes ?and what solution should be used I see # 7 and # 10 do they get mixed together or something or will it come with directions..?also where to get the extra fuses ?Can they be bought anywhere or through the manufacturer? Thanks

Calibrating is not difficult. If anything it might be considered a PITA, but not difficult. Every pH probe needs calibration with two solutions. Always #7 and then either #4 or #10. No, never mix the calibration solutions. Instructions will be included.

Fuses are easily replaced with like fuses. There's no unique science to them as long as they are an exact match to the original manufacturer supplied fuse (different brand is ok).
